Refund and Donation Policy

Every donation directly supports parents and families working toward recovery, reunification, and stable housing. Because of this, donations are generally considered final. That said, we understand mistakes happen, a duplicate charge, an incorrect amount, or a payment made in error, and we want to make things right.

If you believe a donation was made in error, please contact us within 30 days of the transaction date. We will review each request individually and let you know our decision within a few business days.

Reasons we will generally approve a refund include:

• A donation was accidentally submitted more than once
• The donation amount was entered incorrectly
• A recurring donation was not cancelled in time and a payment was processed by mistake

Approved refunds are returned to the original payment method through the same processor used for the donation, Zeffy or GiveWP. Processing times depend on your bank or card issuer, but typically take 5 to 10 business days to appear once we submit the refund.

If you do not see the refund after that window, please check with your bank or card company first, as it often takes them additional time to post the credit, then reach out to us if it still has not arrived.

If you have set up a recurring monthly or annual donation and would like to change or cancel it, contact us any time before your next scheduled payment date and we will take care of it right away. We are also happy to help if you would like to pause your giving temporarily rather than cancel it altogether.

If a refund is issued for a donation you already received a tax receipt for, we will send an updated or corrected receipt reflecting the refunded amount so your records stay accurate.
